Awesome find!

Found this for a decent price when I was about to finish school :)

It's a copy of Star Ocean - The second story for the PS1 and the strategy guide! I don't usually read these guides, but they're really nice to look at and have as a collector. The discs for this game were in mint condition and is really pretty to look at. Reviews will come as soon as I finish Final Fantasy XIII!

Check out the pic :)! Manual is crisp - all pages are tight and bound. Near mint.

Final Fantasy XIII Update!

Finally done school! 5 years of university flashed by so quickly...I finally have time to start playing some of my games that I've collected!

To start off...just a quick review on Final Fantasy XIII and the Collector's Edition hardcover guide!

What to say about Final Fantasy XIII..Chapter 1-3 was the most amazing thing ever. The graphics are absolutely STUNNING in this game. BUT after a while, the stunning graphics just doesn't cut it. By Chapter 10, the gameplay is mediocre at best...Paradigm shifts are fun and all, but they get boring after a while. The fast-paced battle system does appeal to me and is definitely a plus. The battlefield is quite annoying at times. Using Lightning / Fang / Sazh's Blitz is fun, but annoying when one of the monsters suddenly moves, and you miss crowd entirely. It also seems like too many things are happening at once at times. The auto-battle command usually dominates most mobs up to Chapter 10, though the occasional summons are really fun :)

The linearity of the game has it's ups and downs. The story line is interesting..but confusing at times. I had to sit down and read through the data log to understand what was going on a lot of the times.

Weapon upgrading is a new little feature about Final Fantasy XIII that's a hit or miss. For me it was a major miss :P. I always like having some "ultimate" weapon at the end of the game that just destroys everything...which was absent in 13. Gathering materials and having to sell them to get money also feels weird. I liked receiving Gil at the end of fights like in most Final Fantasies :p

As I get further into the game, I hope things will get better! So far I give Final Fantasy XIII a 8/10, with most of it's points arising from it's stellar graphics.

The hardcover guide is beautiful. It provides hints, tips, tricks and many other interesting facts about the game, without giving away the storyline at all. Is it required? No. Is it full of awesome? Definitely. :)

Seven Eight Nine

Who would have ever thought that I would go back and pick these up? After I graduate, I've decided to replay Final Fantasy 7 and 9. I've never touched Final Fantasy 8 before, so hopefully that one turns out fun. I don't really remember much about Final Fantasy 9..I just remember Zidane was annoying and Steiner was a beast. As for Final Fantasy 7...I must have clocked over 140 hours in that game, trying to duplicate my Knights of the Round and other things. Super fun game.

These are the greatest hits copies of the games...I'm still hoping to grab the black labels to collect :)

Enjoy.

Look familiar?

That's because Gene Simmons, son of the famous Nick Simmons, has COMPLETELY traced Kenpachi from Bleach....What a tool.

Coincidence? I think not....Check out these overlays provided by aizome

It's people like this that just need a kick to the face.

Old school fun.

These games bring tears to my eyes. Classics are always my favorite. Sure we have flashy 3D graphics on the PS3 and 360 nowadays, but sometimes controlling little 2D characters is just as much fun.

My most recent purchase:

Final Fantasy IV Advance
Final Fantasy V Advance
Final Fantasy VI Advance

PS. I like to only pick up games that are in very good to mint condition. I have some OCD or something. These boxes are in almost mint condition! I hate flattened boxes, ripped, mutilated, mauled, boxes. I remove stickers from every single game that I buy, and wipe everything with rubbing alcohol and/or Goo gone...YEAH I KNOW - crazy man eh. If you've never used or heard of goo gone, this stuff works wonders on removing sticker residue. However, as it's an oil based chemical, you must first apply it in a small and inconspicuous area to avoid the risks of damaging your item.

CHEERS.

First entry! Introductions.

Hellooo everyone. What better time is it to start a blog then during EXAM times.Yep. Those perfect days of sitting in the library reading 300 pages of text while it's bright and sunny outside, with the sun practically begging you to go outside to bathe in it.

Putting aside the depressing business, I've recently developed a pretty bad habit of buying video games. Any video games that look interesting - most notably the RPGs though. I've been playing games ever since I was a wee one (watching my brother play the Sega Master System is the equivalent to good times.

My gaming saga began when I got my hands on Super Metroid for the SNES and Final Fantasy III for the SNES (Final Fantasy VI in Japan). Ever since then, I've played too many RPGs and MMORPGs to count. However, the gaming stopped as I entered university. I missed out on a huge amount of PS1 and PS2 RPGs. I am not a huge fan of the XBOX console, but have nothing against it :P

I've finally clarified everything to do with the whole Final Fantasy North American vs. Final Fantasy Japan series! For those who don't know:

Final Fantasy IV (Japanese) = Final Fantasy II (North American) SNES
Final Fantasy VI (Japanese) = Final Fantasy III (North American) SNES

HOWEVER. The current re-releases of the games on the DS and Gameboy advance are the Japanese versions. So if IV and VI were bought on the GBA, it would actually be Final Fantasy II and III on the SNES :) INTERESTING YES?

Anyways, I've decided to start this blog and continue to write in it as I finish games, eat at good places, watch funny videos or find good deals to share with everyone. I'm looking to share my fun with everyone!
